A convoy left the village bright and breezy to make the journey to Kirriemuir aided by our Captain's sat nav. Met there by Mr McHattie who enjoyed his lie in, we had a total of 17 golfers amassed ready to go.

There was a delay since the member's medal was forced back due to some overnight frost! The weather warmed up and the golf got better as the day went on. The short but tricky course offering lots of birdie chances but proving difficult putting with the sanded greens.

It pretty close competition again with Bob McMillan emerging victorious. A worthy winner who accumulated a grand total of 34 points. Following closely behind in second place was Brian Nicoll who had a better back nine than Kenny Field. The nearest the pin at the short 16th was won by Ed Wallace. The winning yellow ball group was Angus Thompson, Ed Wallace and Neil Graham. In winning the hidden holes prize it was unanimus that Bob was crowned bandit of the month.

Next month, as winter approaches, we prepare for the battle of Auchterarder with the annual foxes versus hounds grudge game. We are hoping for good weather and a clean fight between the junior (bairns) part of the society against the senior (pensioners) part of the society.

The location for the youth versus experience tussle is at Aucherarder Golf Course, just down the road from Gleaneagles. Bordering with the championship PGA Centenary Course the 5435 yard (yellow tees) par 69 course has stunning views of Perthshire, in particular Glendevon.
