It was a total of 16 members who left Balmullo early for the hour trip up north to Pitlochry. The weather was pleasant allowing those who were not impressed with their golf to be impressed by the beautiful scenery. This was after the climb of the first 3 holes though.

Conditions were quite good for scoring but the course was wet. Dave Miller emerged victorious closely followed by Paul Fenwick who won with a better back 9. Nearest the pin with an outstanding shot to within a few feet was Eric Boyd. The hidden hole after about 5 extra holes was Al McHattie. The yellow ball competition was won by John Cox, Dave Goodwin, Kenny Field & Noel Raleigh. Special mention to John McKie who eagled the 14th hole with a lovely drive to the edge of the green.

Next month we head for one of the society's favourite courses, Forfar. The Cunninghill course is a wooded heathland course which was originally laid out by four time Open Champion Old Tom Morris of St Andrews in 1871 with alterations being made in 1926 by James Braid. A tricky course measuring 6066 yards and par 69 is home to Stuart Wilson who in June 2004 won the Amateur Championship at St Andrews on the occasion of the 250th Anniversary of the R & A.
