It was a wet and windy morning as we set out the short distance to St Andrews to play the Jubilee Course. Eighteen members braved the weather, including 1 new member and 1 guest.

As is often the case, new member Rab Melrose won the competition with ease, with Dave Goodwin beating the rest to second. Nicol McNair was the most accurate winning nearest the pin. Rab Melrose won the Hidden Hole competition, and the winning Yellow Ball team were Alan McHattie, John Cox, Dave Goodwin and Graeme Buchan. Dave Goodwin was this month’s Bandit.

The next outing is on March 1st, and for this we stay in Fife and head down to Lundin Links, founded in 1868, on a Tom Morris course which was extensively redesigned in 1908-09 by five times Open Champion James Braid, is well known throughout the golfing world as a course of rare quality. Fine links fairways and excellent greens have ensured that it has been regularly selected as a final qualifying course for the Open Championship. Narrow fairways, bunkers, burns, and ever-changing winds guarantee a testing but rewarding golfing experience.

The cost will be £20 and will include soup and a roll. Can I also remind members that membership of £20 are also due to be paid by this date.
